  • Observe Signals to shunt track machine and camping coach from one line to another, drive the machine from base depot to work site and back to siding after completion of work.
  • Initial setting and operating the machine for ‘on track’ working; keep a watch on controls, indicators, gauges and closing the work of the machine including ramping.
  • Work in a team environment and lead the team members.
  • Liasoning with divisional officers for planning daily programme for the efficient and quality work of the machine.
  • Posting of fitters and helpers at respective places around the machine for monitoring the work of various systems, carrying out during block maintenance.
  • Carrying out the prescribed schedule of daily and periodical maintenance of the machine and keeping proper record of the same.
  • Read and interpret blue prints and drawings for electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment installation and various systems.
  • Calibration of various electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as per the specifications of the machine.
  • Trouble shoot, maintain and repair of electronic, electrical equipments and controls of various hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies.
  • Installation and maintenance of lead acid batteries, alternators, self-starters etc.
  • Install, maintain and repair hydraulic assemblies like pumps, motors, cylinders, unloaded valves, flow control valves, servo valves, proportional valves etc.
  • Install maintain and repair pneumatic assemblies like compressors, filters, water separators, unloaded valves, pressure control valves, cylinders etc.
  • Check, maintain and repair gearboxes (mechanical and hydro-dynamic) and other mechanical assemblies.
  • Safe custody, accountable and replacement of spares, tools, plants and consumables issued for the machine and returning of released spares to base depot for reclamation.

Punjab State Electricity Board.

  • Install and maintain overhead accessories like insulators, isolators, lightening arrestors, guy wires, jumpers, fuses etc.
  • Test, install, maintain and repair transmission and distribution system.
  • Laying and testing of underground cables (11KV).
  • Install, test, maintain and repair street lightening system.
  • Install and test earthing system.
  • Splicing, soldering and making joints of overhead and underground conductors.
